What else can you say! We have chickens, and a lot of them. We purchase early season for eggs in the fall and meat throughout the summer months. All of our chickens are grown from chicks within the confines of our insulated outbuilding and then transitioned to free range over approximately 3 weeks. During that time we trim down the purchased feed as the grasses and insect life starts to blossom. Our chickens are healthy, happy, and forage well on our 10+ acres designated for their use. Many times we find that the chickens are "hanging out" with our pastured pigs and clean up much of the rooted forest and fields.
We have seasonal availability of roasters, breast, thighs, legs, and feet from our meat chickens and free range eggs with yolk scales (La Roche Scale) ranging between 10 and 13. We have had 14 but only briefly and on sunflower grazing.
We also have duck eggs and meat available.
